We work closely with youth, parents, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare providers to create an individualized support plan that best meets the needs of each family.

  • Dr. Joyce Li

    Dr. Joyce Li, C.Psych.

    IN-PERSON (TORONTO) + VIRTUAL

    Dr. Joyce Li provides warm and empathetic clinical care to children, adolescents, and parents experiencing complex mental health issues, challenging life transitions, and difficulties in relationships.

    Dr. Li completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University and her predoctoral residency at Alberta Children’s Hospital. Her main areas of interest include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, parenting, and attachment. She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents who are coping with trauma, loss, and separation.

    At Sunrise Psychology, Dr. Li provides evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety disorders; exposure and response prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); and emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT) and attachment-based approaches to enhance family relationships. With young children, she especially enjoys using play- and creativity-based therapies to support the development of healthy emotional expression.

    Dr. Joyce Li is a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

  • Dr. Maisha Syeda

    Dr. Maisha Syeda, C.Psych.

    Dr. Maisha Syeda provides sensitive and thoughtful clinical care to children, adolescents, and caregivers experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety and depressive disorders, disordered eating behaviours, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), and adjustment challenges resulting from complex or chronic developmental trauma.

    Dr. Syeda obtained her Ph.D. in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary and completed her predoctoral residency in youth mental health in Washington, D.C.

    At Sunrise Psychology, Dr. Syeda provides evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT) for anxiety and depressive disorders, exposure response prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and trauma-focused psychotherapies. Dr. Syeda also provides consultations and coaching with parents and caregivers of 2SLQBTQIA+ youth to create safe and resilient home and classroom environments and support transitions with identities and expressions.

    Dr. Maisha Syeda is a registered clinical, counselling, and school psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

  • Dr. Irene Hong, psychologist

    Dr. Irene Hong, C. Psych.

    Dr. Irene Hong provides warm and collaborative clinical care to children, adolescents, and caregivers experiencing a wide range of challenges. She has a particular interest in anxiety and mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), emotion dysregulation, interpersonal problems, and parenting supports.

    Dr. Hong completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University and her predoctoral residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, school boards, university clinics, and private practice. Dr. Hong also currently works at CHEO as a psychologist in the Eating Disorders Program.

    At Sunrise Psychology, Dr. Hong provides evidenced-based treatments including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety disorders, exposure response prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and draws from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and emotion focused family therapy (EFFT) to best meet each client’s needs.
